The Local Pond

At the local pay pond, the action begins the moment you are setup and ready.
The guide usually 'berley" to attract the fish. This method was used from the earliest days when anglers hung animal carcasses from tree branches over the river. When maggots started falling from the fly-blown carcass into the water, fish were attracted to the area below, making it easier for anglers to catch them.

Our bait comprised of live and dead tilapia of varied sizes. Be prepared, hold on tight. as soon as our baits hit the water, our lines flew off the reel and if you are not ready for it, your rod may also take a dip into the water.

Boon Mar Pay Pond

Boon Mar is about 3 hrs away from the city, if you start your journey early, you may get there sooner. Expect slightly bumpy road at the end of the journey.

Upon arrival at Boon Mar, we were greeted by our usual friendly fishing guides.
There are several ponds available and depending on its availability or what ever the reason were,
we were given a pond not too far away from the front entrance. Again, expect to catch ONLY seabass (barramundi). This time we tried all our favorite lures. Try top-water, mid-water or sinking , we vary the retrieve. It is so easy to catch a fish here. A good place for beginners to be hooked to this sport. At least thats how my wife Sally was so hooked to fishing today.

So, rest those muscles before you fish at Boon Mar. They are strong!
Besides fishing, don't forget to order the local lunch cook by a nearby caterer.

Thailand IT Monster Lake
​
At IT Monster Lake, we found find peace and tranquility. Upon arrival, we were rewarded by the captivating views of the lake. But nothing can slow us down. We immediately returned into battle mode. This is one place where giants are lurking in the deep waters. Expect to catch Arapaimas, Red Tail catfishs, Chao Phrayas, Pacu, Tomans etc.
